Description
The name Arjuna means ‘the shining one’ and is associated with one of the great hero’s in Indian mythology who brings strength, fortitude and protection to his family – just as Arjuna brings these qualities to the body. The pale white bark from which it comes ‘moults’ once per year, revealing new life. It is harvested when the tree is mature, thus attesting to it’s reputation for prolonging life, protecting the elderly and strengthening the heart.
Arjuna is traditionally prescribed to help strengthen the heart and improve associated functions. Angina, cardiac arrhythmia and hypertension have all showed improvement in human clinical trials. It has also been shown to help reduce total cholesterol and triglyceride levels. It can be used to strengthen the muscles of the heart, tone and improve flexibility of the capillaries helping to prevent high blood pressure. It is also useful for improving circulation, and facilitating healing of wounds and fractures.
