Ashoka is a useful herb for treating menstrual disorders associated with excess bleeding, pain and congestion. Helpful where there are uterine spasms, abdominal pain, irregular periods and dysmenorrhoea (painful periods). It has been used in the treatment of fibroids, cysts, endometriosis and leucorrhoea (vaginal discharge – often associated with estrogen imbalance). Ashoka’s strongly astringing properties can be beneficial in cases of bleeding piles.
